Systems Analysis Quality Metrics Algorithms

Abstract

The objective of the Systems Analysis Quality Metrics Algorithms program is to formalize IDEF(O) standards of good practice and to develop algorithms for the integration of metric primitives into whole diagram and whole model metrics. Formalizations are recommended for activation definition, data content of arrows, arrow labeling, interpretation of unlabeled arrows, generic interfaces, tunneled arrows, and mechanisms. Metric scoring algorithms are described for syntax, semantics, coupling structure, the 'Every box must have a control' rule, cohesion, five balance concepts, and activation disclosure.
