Basewide Engineering Evaluation-Cost Analysis for Soil Vapor Extraction. Site Specific Document OU D/SITE S

Abstract

This document supports the use of soil vapor extraction (SVE) as the non-time-critical removal action for areas having high levels of volatile organic compound (VOC) contamination in Site S, which is located in Operable Unit (OU)D. This SVE removal action is part of the initial basewide SVE removal action at McClellan Air Force Base (McAFB). The principle objective of basewidth SVE removal actions is to achieve early risk reduction by removing a significant quantity of VOCs from soils in the vadose zone, intercepting an exposure pathway, or preventing additional flux to groundwater.
