Electro-Rheology Fluids and Liquid Fuel Flow

Abstract

The goals of this research are: Understand and clarify the physical mechanism underlying the electrorheological (ER) phenomenon, such as viscosity, the structure of ER fluids, phase transitions, and properties; Apply the ER phenomenon to fuels to control viscosity; Study cryogenic ER fluids and investigate applications of the ER effect to slurry rocket fuels.
