Arnold Engineering Development Center Low-Background Blackbody Calibration

Abstract

Arnold Engineering Development Center low-background, blackbody sources, which emit in the long-wavelength infrared electromagnetic spectrum, have been calibrated at the National Institute of Standards and Technology between 1990 and 1993. These traceable blackbody calibrations have also been transferred to secondary working standards for use in radiometric test facilities. This report provides a summary of the current status and future direction of blackbody calibration at Arnold Engineering Development Center. A complete description of the sources, calibration results, diffraction-correction modeling, and future capabilities is provided. LWIR, Radiometrics. Blackbody
