Ecological Risk Assessment Report, Submerged Quench Incinerator, Task IRA-2, Basin F Liquids Treatment Design. Version 3.0

Abstract

The objective of this ecological risk assessment is to evaluate the potential impacts of on-site incineration of Basin F liquids. Twenty-nine chemicals were evaluated for potential adverse effects to terrestrial and aquatic wildlife and vegetation on RMA. Based on this assessment, it is concluded that the operation of the submerged quench incinerator poses no quantifiable risks to the wildlife and vegetation. The assessment is divided into the following sections: 1. Description of the area - terrestrial and aquatic ecology; 2. Contaminants of concern; 3. Ecological exposure description of contaminant transport from incinerator to environment; 4. Ecological risk - development of risk criteria, risk characterization; 5. Assumptions and uncertainties. 6. Conclusions.
