Titanium '92: Science and Technology. Proceedings of a Symposium Sponsored by the Titanium Committee of the Minerals, Metals and Materials Structural Metals Division Held at the World Titanium Conference (7th) in San Diego, California on June 29-July 2, 1992. Volume 2

Abstract

This is a review of the current research and development activities on the gamma/alpha, two-phase TiAl compounds which have recently received a great deal of research interest because of their refractory nature with a very low density. Particular emphasis is laid on their microstructure and mechanical behavior. Recent work on the environmental embrittlement in TiAl is also briefly reviewed.
