Advanced Fuel Properties; A Computer Program for Estimating Property Values

Abstract

The U.S. Air Force has seen that in order to develop fuels needed for the high performance aircraft of the future, the ability to design fuels based on the satisfaction of a set needed properties is necessary. This report covers all phases of a project to develop software to accomplish this goal. This report discusses the methods used by the software to obtain the thermochemical properties of organic fuel candidates. Emphasis was placed on describing the methods used to determine the properties of a mixture of compounds, since it is these types of mixtures that are most likely to be found in fuels. Fuel properties, Physical properties, Thermodynamics, Predictions.
