Abstract

This report includes analytic discussion of use of company toroid as magnetized target for compression by solid liner implosion and reports on design and diagnostics for the Phillips Laboratory MARAUDER compact toroid program. Diagnostic work included fielding 20 to 30 magnetic probes with analog fiber optic links and fast photography. The latter required modifications to the MARAUDER triggering system. Design features of factor three conical compression hardware are discussed.
