An Approach to Identifying Future Brigade Tasks

Abstract

This Research Report describes the development and initial test of an approach to collect Brigade training information from military experts. Central to the approach is the use of battlefield situations that Army military officers can respond to in an open, nonevaluative fashion. The situations represent futuristic battles that a Brigade must take part in to accomplish its mission. Army experts are asked to identify the tasks that would have to be performed to achieve success in combat. Preliminary results of the task data and conclusions about the approach are presented. Task analysis, Brigade, Task identification, Military Operation, Interview, Training.
