Aviation Epidemiology Data Register: Age Distribution of U.S. Army Aviators Stratified by Gender and Component of Service

Abstract

The U.S. Army Aviation Epidemiology Data Register (AEDR) contains information on the history and physical parameters of Army aircrew members. As a reference for AEDR users and customers, the age distribution of Army aviators was extracted. The data were tabulated by age, gender, and component of service for calendar years 1986 through 1992. AEDR researchers can use the tables to calculate annual incidence rates, annual period prevalence rates, and other rates based on aviator-years of occupational exposure stratified by age, gender, and/or component. Aeromedical resource, policy and standards managers can use the tables for planning and funding aviator health care programs.
