In-Bed Multiport Sampling System
Abstract
Knowledge of the transient behavior in fixed-bed separation processes is required to design advanced air purification systems. Measuring transient behavior experimentally can be difficult because of rapid changes in pressure and temperature in the bed. An apparatus has been developed which simultaneously isolates multiple vapor phase concentration samples at selected axial positions within the bed for subsequent analysis. Results are presented for the calibration operation of this sampling apparatus using a laboratory pressure swing adsorption system. In-bed concentration profiles, Simultaneous sampling.
