Direct-Sequence Spread-Spectrum Performance in a Multipath Fading Environment
Abstract
The performance of coherent direct-sequence spread-spectrum communication systems with specular multipath fading is analyzed in terms of average probability of error. Approximations to such are based on the characteristic-function method. The probability mass function of the correlation receiver output is also derived with this approach. Numerical results are presented for various multipath environments with deterministic gain coefficients and channel coding applications. Spread-spectrum communications, Multipath fading.
