DoD Contracting in the Global Environment

Abstract

International contracting is very difficult because of its inherently complex nature. Foreign contractors, multiple governments, and diverse cultures add dimensions not found in domestic contracting. We continue to see significant and repetitions mistakes. In this paper attempt to illustrate the complex process, discuss its effectiveness, and offer suggestions for improvement by answering the following questions: (1) What is international contracting? (2) Why is it important? (3) How well is it accomplished? and (4) How can the process be improves?
