U.S. Liner Fleet and the Economy

Abstract

This paper reviews the interdependence of U.S. flag shipping and the American economy. A discussion of U.S. flag shipping and its impact upon the U. S. economy, the background of the industry, the reasons for the demise of the fleet, and some possible untested solutions are included.
