Fiscal Year 1995 Military Construction Program

Abstract

The Department of Defense Military Construction request for Fiscal Year 1995 appropriations total $8.4 billion. The request includes almost 300 construction projects at more than 190 locations to provide facilities needed by the Armed Forces, the Defense Agencies, and for NATO Infrastructure support. This request provides $2.6 billion for military construction (including environmental compliance) and $2.7 billion for base closure activities. The balance of the program is needed for planning and design of future construction projects ($. 3 billion) and operating and maintaining the 421,000 family housing units ($2.8 billion).
