Pilot Information Center Preflight Planning

Abstract

Based on accident analysis and literature review, this effort developed a list of the types of information that pilots need for preflight planning. This report also discusses the Pilot Information Center, a potential method for distributing this information. This report is one of two being published on PIC. The other report is DOT /FAA/SP-93/2, Performance Guidelines for Pilot Information Centers. Both documents address the issue of what services are required for GA preflight planning.
