Lead Exposure Hazard Management Guide

Abstract

This report discusses procedures to perform Lead Based Paint investigations. It is intended to provide practical methods to be used in house. It describes the roles and responsibilities of the Bio-environment Engineer, Military Public Health Officer the Lead Toxicity Investigation team, and the necessary steps to perform lead based paint risk assessments and hazard identification. It emphasizes risk assessments as a tool to achieve a lead hazard free environment instead of a lead free environment. It is a compilation of the best available information on lead sampling and analysis, medical monitoring, risk assessments, in place management, worker protection, hazardous waste management, abatement, and cleanup.
