Tri-Service Champus Statistical Database Project (TCSDP): Champus Ambulatory Data Analysis. Summary Report

Abstract

This report presents a summary analysis of the Ambulatory CHAMPUS data for FY92. The source of the data was the Tri-Service CHAMPUS Statistical Database Project (TCSDP). Numerous cross tabulations were employed to reveal the outpatients' distributions based on several criteria such as sponsor's branch of service, sex, age, beneficiary category and rank. The total number of visits and services, the totals paid by the government, the patient and other sources computed also as percentages of grand total for each category considered by sponsor's branch of service and at the DOD level were presented. The leading 100 diagnoses and procedures by descending number of services were displayed along with the episodes of care, the number of visits, associated costs and ratios of government pay to episode, government pay to services and episode to services.
