Estimation and Control of Parameters in Linear and Nonlinear Distributed Models of Flexible Structures

Abstract

This project seeks to study the estimation of elastic, damping, and material parameters inflexible structure. Of particular interest are problems in the design and estimation of parameters in structures made up of systems of coupled beams and plates, the estimation of parameters in models that may not have unique solutions, and the estimation and design of various plate and shell models incorporating, for example, large deformation, variable thickness, existing curvatures, contact and possible friction conditions
