Process Action Teams - Ingredients for Success

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate specific predictors of process action team (PAT) success. PAT members who are employees at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAC) were surveyed with a questionnaire. PAT success items were then correlated with overall PAT success and items about the critical value were selected out. PAT success was measured on a seven point scale by each respondent. Cronbach's alpha for the four items that were selected out was .59. While controlling for background variables and with PAT success as the dependent variable, regression analysis revealed that the four PAT success items accounted for 39% of the variance. This difference in R squared was tested with an F test (F(4,18) = 3.57, p < .05). The results indicated that PAT success varies as a function of four specific measures of PAT success. This relationship existed even when background variables were controlled. Process action team (PAT).
