Theoretical Studies of Ultrashort Phenomena

Abstract

With the advent of new laser sources, considerable interest has been focussed on the interaction of femtosecond optical pulses with nonlinear media. We find conditions for femtosecond solitons and demonstrate that they differ in their velocity and phase from the traditional solitons. We investigate physical properties for their experimental observation. Femtosecond optics, Nonlinear optics, Nonlinear partial differential equations.
