Abstract

The Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET) is responsible for providing nonresident training in support of Occupational Standards (OCCSTDs), Naval STandards (NAVSTDs), Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS), Officer Billet Codes (OBC), and other job or billet requirements as directed by the Chief of Naval Operations. Nonresident training is a self-study package designed to help a student acquire specific knowledge. Normally, a nonresident training package consists of a nonresident training course (NRTC) and a text. An NRTC may consist of exercises, lessons, or examinations designed to assist the student in acquiring the knowledge contained in an associated text. The text for an NRTC may be any of the following: A training manual (TRAMAN) written specifically to be used as the text for an NRTC. An existing manual, directive, or instruction. A commercial textbook
