Abstract

The U.S. Army Belvoir Research, Development and Engineering Center is one of two research centers reporting to the U.S. Army Troop Support Command (TROSCOM) which is a subordinate command under the U.S. Army Materiel Command. Within the Belvoir Research, Development and Engineering Center (BRDEC), the Fuels and Lubricants Division of the Materials, Fuels and Lubricants Directorate has technical responsibility within the Department of the Army for mobility fuels, lubricants, functional fluids, and corrosion preventatives which encompasses management and execution of research and development programs within the Fuels and Lubricants Field of Endeavor. Qualification Testing Programs for those Army Petroleum and Associated Product specifications having Qualification Product Listing requirements. Engineering Support for standardization activities in Petroleum and Associated Product specifications/standards/related handbooks. The Fuels and Lubricants (F and L) Program, as structured, is designed to meet both short and long range objectives and requirements for fuels, lubricants, power transmission/hydraulic fluids, corrosion preventatives, greases, weapon lubricant and specialty compounds.
