The Mechanical Property Data Base from an Air Force/Industry Cooperative Test Program on Advanced Aluminum Alloys

Abstract

This report contains a mechanical property data base on aluminum- lithium alloys 2091, 8090, IN905XL, AL905XL, and Weldalite 2095 and a data base on powder metallurgy alloys 7064 and CW67. Basic mechanical property data consist of tension, compression, shear, bearing and fracture toughness properties. Fatigue data were generated from both smooth and notched specimens. Constant amplitude fatigue crack growth rate data and spectrum fatigue test data were generated. Other tests performed on a select number of alloys were ballistic, hardness and conductivity.
