DoD Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program for High School Students. 1993-1994 Activities
Abstract
The guidance counselors of five local high schools were approached to obtain the names of outstanding college bound students to expose students to science and scientific methodology. (1) Student one: WGPA: 3.71; Geophysical Fluid Dyn, Inst, FSU, Tallahassee, FL, enrolled in Pharmacy; discipline of research: Atmospheric Science, major tasks performed: digitaizing of velocity vectors from photographs of flow fields obtained in laboratory experiments. (2) Student two: WGPA: 3.57; Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Inst. FSU Tallahassee, FL, enrolled in Nursing; Discipline of Research: Meteorology; Tasks performed: Digitizing of velocity vectors from photographs of flow fields obtained in laboratory experiments. (3) Student three: WGPA: 4.6; Geophysical Fluid Dyn Inst. FSU, Tallahassee, enrolled: undecieded; discipline of research Atmospherice Science. (4) Student four: WGPA: 4.19; Geophysical Fluid Dyn.
