Quantitative Monitoring of Ammonia and Hydrazines: Absolute Cross Sections for Electron Impact Ionization

Abstract

Absolute cross sections are reported for electron impact dissociative ionization of ammonia, hydrazine, and monomethyl hydrazine. Electron energies were varied from the ionization thresholds to 260 eV. The measurements were made using a pulsed electron-molecule crossed beam apparatus equipped with a time-of- flight mass spectrometer. These data will assist in quantitative analysis for air sampling or other monitoring applications that use mass spectrometry.
