Design of Structures to Resist the Effects of Atomic Weapons. Single-Story Frame Buildings

Abstract

This manual is one in a series issued for the guidance of engineers engaged in the design of permanent type military structures required to resist the effects of atomic weapons. It is applicable to all Corps of Engineers activities and installations responsible for the design of military construction. The material is based on the results of full-scale atomic tests and analytical studies. The problem of designing structures to resist the effect of atomic weapons is new and the methods of solution are still in the development stage. Continuing studies are in progress and supplemental material will be published as it is developed.
