Brigade Prepositioned (PREPO) Afloat Operations Study

Abstract

This report describes the heavy brigade propositioned (PREPO) afloat operations processes for the alert phase, deployment phase, and theater reception and onward movement phase. The report identifies the processes/tasks performed by the off-load preparation party (OPP), advance party, transportation group, and main body. It identifies the overall duration time of the operations and recommendations to reduce that time. Two situations were examined: (1) pier side off-load, and 92) in-stream off-load. A decision support system (DSS) is under development by the TRADOC Analysis Center (TRAC) to encompass the PREPO operations to allow staff planners to determine durations for various contingencies.
