Staffing, Training, and Funding Issues for FAA's Major Work Force.

Abstract

We appreciate the opportunity to testify on major work force issues affecting PAA operations. Several times over the past few years GAO has reported that FAA needs to improve its hiring and training of three work forces critical for air traffic safety--air traffic controllers, aviation safety inspectors, and maintenance technicians. Our testimony today will reiterate some of our concerns and discuss a range of needed management improvements
