In-Process Quality Control in Apparel Production: Sewing Defects.

Abstract

This research and development task has the goal of providing an automatic, in-process quality control system for the detection of sewing defects as they occur. Three technologies were investigated for prototype implementation in an industrial apparel environment. Thread motion measurement proved very successful in in-plant trials.
