Computer-Based Training of Cannon Fire Direction Specialists

Abstract

This report documents results of a research project entitled 'Future Individual Training Strategies.' The overall project objectives are to identify and assess alternative training strategies that may be more efficient and affordable than current techniques for conducting Army individual training, with special attention given to resident training conducted in U.S. Army schools. Here the authors present results of one of three case studies of specialized skill training in an Army military specialty. Each case study examines current job requirements and training approaches, identifies alternative methods of conducting training consistent with new Army training concepts, and analyzes resources, osts, and potential consequences of changes in training strategy
