Reactions of Atmospheric Cluster Ions.

Abstract

In our first year of AASERT support, we have developed the necessary instrumentation and computer programs for measuring the mobilities of cluster ions using ion modulation/arrival time techniques. As a test of the methodology, we have carried out a systematic study of the mobility of CO+ in helium buffer gas as a function of drift field and have found excellent agreement with previous results. Studies of the mobilities and reactions of atmospheric duster ions using our SIFT instrument are being initiated Ion-Molecule reactions, Atmospheric ions, Mobilities, Cluster ions, Selected ion flow tube
