Joint Transform Optical Correlation

Abstract

A study of the characteristics of a joint Fourier transform correlation has been completed. The correlation's characteristics experimentally confirm that the joint transform correlator is a viable alternative to the classical Vander Lugt correlator for optical pattern recognition applications.
