Near-Infrared Imaging of Selected Areas

Abstract

The observational program described here consists of multi-color near-infrared imaging of selected areas on the sky. The scientific goals are to provide a database for development of algorithms for efficient extraction of sources both in sparse and in crowded areas, and to check current models of the sky. The practical goals are to test a variety of observing techniques in preparation of a new-infrared all-sky survey.
