Stoichiometry and Electronic Properties of PbTe

Abstract

Off-stoichiometric single crystals of PbTe were grown by the Bridgman technique at a solidification rate of 0.35 cm/hr. At this low solidification rate the crystals were longitudinally segregated, the composition at any point corresponding to that dictated by the solidus curve of the phase diagram.
