Design of a Radio Frequency Data Link for the Unmanned Ground Vehicle Technology Test Bed Demonstration Program

Abstract

A description of the design of an L-Band Radio Frequency data link for the Unmanned Ground Vehicle Technology Test Bed Program conducted by Research, Development, and Engineering Center, MICOM is presented. This report describes the command and control data link design. The system provides remote operator control communications for a robotic HMMWV. The data link utilizes a bidirectional RF system with a relay station to provide non-line-of-sight operations. The report details the design and expected performance of the data link.
