A VHF/UHF Antenna for the Precision Antenna Measurement System (PAMS)

Abstract

This report describes the development of an antenna concept that is to be used to extend the lower frequency limit of the Precision Antenna Measurement System (PAMS) down to 30 MHz. It includes a discussion of the concepts of reflection ranges, log periodic antennas, half space antennas, nonsteerable antennas, and numerical definition of antenna patterns in two dimensions. PAMS is located at the Verona Research Facility, and is a system for measuring the radiation patterns of antennas on aircraft while they are in flight. Aircraft antennas, VHF, UHF, Airborne antenna measurements.
