Strategies for Healthy Coping with Operational Stress & Reunion Tips

Abstract

This short brochure was written for USAREUR soldiers who deployed to Rwanda as part of 'Operation Support Hope.' The pamphlet was distributed to the redeploying soldiers upon their return home to Germany and their families. The brochure has five sections which suggest strategies for healthy coping with operational stress following a humanitarian mission. The goal was to make the soldier's return go more smoothly as well as to help the soldier take positive lessons from the deployment. The brochure also contains a section on 'Reunion Tips' intended for both soldiers and their family members. The brochure as developed by the U.S. Army Medical Research Unit - Europe in cooperation with the Office of the Surgeon, U.S. Army, Europe and 7th Army (USAREUR).
