HELLFIRE 6-DOF Simulation Validation for Stockpile Reliability Program with Seeker Test Data

Abstract

The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command's Redstone Technical Test Center, in coordination with the U.S. Army Missile Command's Research, Development and Engineering Center, has continued in its concept of marrying Testing with Modeling & Simulation in order to improve the HELLFIRE Missile Stockpile Reliability Program testing and subsequent data interpretation. After years of component/subsystem lab bench testing, a six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation which was developed during weapon system development is now being loaded with those tested parameters and operated in order to improve the acceptance decision. This report documents modifications to and the verification and validation of the 6-DOF simulation to accept the data resulting from this bench testing.
