A Software Process Framework for the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model

Abstract

The Software Process Framework (SPF) is a document that provides information contained in the SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for Software v1.1 (Paulk93a) in a format suitable for process definition and improvement. The SPF allows users to determine if their organization's software process documentation is consistent with the recommendations made by the CMM. When organizational software process documentation is found to be inconsistent with the CMM, the SPF provides the ability to make informed decisions regarding the applicability of specific CMM recommendations.
