Ion-Molecule Reactions at Very High Temperatures

Abstract

Rate coefficients have been measured at temperatures in the range 300-1100 K for three ion-molecule reaction systems, O(-)+ NO and CO, and O(+)2 + CH4. These results are compared with previous studies of temperature and translational energy dependences of ion-molecule reaction rate coefficients. Problems relating to operation of a flowing afterglow apparatus of high temperatures are discussed. Ion-molecule, Flow tube, Kinetics, High temperature.
