Abstract

This Deskbook serves as a guide for training attorneys and legal assistant specialists at the Naval Justice School. Partial contents of this Deskbook include: Laws and Legal Commentary in the Areas of International Law; Operational Law (including some areas of Criminal Law); Laws Applicable to Duty Outside of CONUS; Installation Law (Military Facilities and Codes of Conduct); Military Justice (Naval Criminal Justice System, Courts Martial, Appellate and Review Procedures); Administrative Law; Legal Assistance; Law Covering Military Personnel Actions of a Non-criminal Nature; and Administrative Separations. The Guidebook is published for training purposes and as a quick guide to relevant law. It is never intended to be used as an alternative to analysis of legislation regulations, the UCMJ and other such forms of legal opinions as may be pertinent to a case.
