The Effect of MOPP4 on M198 Howitzer Crew Performance. Volume 3. Validation of Subject Matter Expert (SME) Performance Estimation Method

Abstract

Validation of a method for obtaining estimates of task performance change under stressor conditions is extended by comparing Subject Matter Expert (SME)-derived data with measured data on the performance of M198 howitzer crews during live-firing. Fair agreement between the two bodies of data is found, given the limitations of the data available. The SME-estimate method for obtaining performance change data is conditionally valid. Suggestions for improving the estimation methodology are given.
