Continuum Mechanical Modeling of Solids Undergoing a Phase Transformation.

Abstract

This report summarizes our research on the continuum mechanical modeling of materials that undergo stress and temperature induced phase transitions. It contains a problem statement, a summary of results, a list of publications, and names of personnel. The results pertain to the construction of the model, the study of the model in both quasi-static and inertial settings, a study of coupled thermomechanical effects, a study of cyclic effects and comparison with experiments.
