Information Compendium on Solid Film Lubricants.

Abstract

This report has been prepared to aid in the investigation and development of environmentally compliant solid lubricants for future U.S. Army ground materiel lubricant needs. This paper covers the fundamentals of solid film lubricants and provides insight for basic research efforts being conducted. Topics discussed include the purpose, uses, formulation, application, and other factors which can influence the success or failure of thin film coatings applied to U.S. Army ground vehicle equipment
