Extended Equation-of-State for Dichlorodifluoromethane (CCI2F2).

Abstract

A new equation-of-state for decomposed CCI2F2 (dichlorodifluoromethane) has been developed. This new equation-of-state is based upon equilibrium composition calculations of the components and possible products of CCI2F2 and utilizes tables of thermochemical properties for each of the gas species. Since the thermochemical property tables had an upper temperature limit of 6,000 deg K, these tables first had to be extended to cover the temperature range of interest. The new equation-of-state covers the pressure range of 0.1 to 100,000 bar and the temperature range from 200 to 30,000 deg K, and with certain limitations, up to 500,000 deg K. The methods used to extend the thermochemical tables and to determine the equilibrium gas composition are described.
