Subvisual Cirrus: What It Is and Where You Find It.

Abstract

Extremely low column density ice clouds (subvisual cirrus) have significant impacts on passive IR remote sensing of both the atmosphere and the Earth. In this report I review the physical properties of subvisual cirrus and discuss their detection and global distribution.
