Propagation and Transformation Properties of Axicon Optical Systems for Laser Beams,

Abstract

Axicon optical systems can transform a gaussian beam into a diffraction-free Bessel beam. In addition mutual, transformation between solid beam and annular beam can also be realized. The paper details theoretical analyses and experimental studies on the axicon and its composite optical system; both results are in agreement. Axicon optical systems are shown to have wide applications in laser techniques. (AN)
