The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Supplement for the Environmental Assesment and Management (TEAM) Guide.
Abstract
In response to the growing number of environmental laws and regulations worldwide, the Defense Logistic Agency (DLA) has adopted an environmental compliance program that identifies compliance problems before they are cited as violations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). In 1993, the DLA developed a program to maintain compliance with all Federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The goal is to protect human health/safety and the environment. The resulting system combines Federal environmental regulations, along with good management practices and risk management information, into a series of checklists that show legal requirements and which specific items or operations to review. In fiscal year 1994, the DLA became a participant in the efforts to create a single compliance assessment manual for use by all members of the DOD. The resultant manual is The Environmental Assessment and Management (TEAM) Guide. In order to examine Army Regulations (ARs), DLA Regulations (DLARs), and DLA Manuals (DLAMs), the DLA supplement was developed to use in conjunction with the TEAM Guide. -BKA
