Radar Cross Section Synthesis for Planar Resistive Surfaces.

Abstract

Equations are developed for synthesizing the radar cross section (RCS) of a planar resistive sheet. The equations are verified by first calculating the RCS of the sheet for an assumed resistivity function. The computed RCS is used in the synthesis equations, and the resistivity distribution is shown to be in agreement with the original assumed distribution. Several synthesis parameters are examined and their effect on the accuracy and computing time are discussed. Results are shown for both monostatic and bistatic RCS with arbitrary incident wave polarization.
